Essential ClassicsThe essential package is a list of songs which we think you must hear at least once in your lifetime. The collection does not only contain the well known hits, but as you know us there's also plenty of music to enjoy for the connoisseurs. The foundation of pop music where musicians still can aquire inspiration. We concentrate on the period 1955-1999. The Rock & Roll era.

This list will last a lifetime. Feel free to supplement the music as you wish, we'll give you the cornerstones of music. The sources we used for the composition of the KX essential package are, the Rolling Stone 500 greatest songs of all times, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Q Magazine's diverse allertijden lijsten, the book '1001 songs you must hear before you die', the BBC radio 1 chart, the Billboard Hot 100 and of course our own ears!

Every day there are fresh new broadcasts at 09:00 which will be repeated at 21:00. Every list will be kept up on the KXclassics website. Enjoy this unique list of fundamental classics. Hopefully it will be appreciated. By the way, we would like to apologize for the thousounds of songs that should be on the list, but unfortunately are not. Although, we think most of The basic foundation of music can be found on there.
